Sophie Bhalla

Sophie is a Solicitor within the Complex Patient (Court of Protection) Team at Legal & Risk Services, having joined the team in November 2023 shortly after qualifying.

She obtained a Law degree (LLB) from Bangor University and achieved a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC) whilst also completing a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Law.

Prior to joining Legal & Risk, she began her legal career in private practice, specialising in Court of Protection welfare matters, Mental Health, and Family Law. Her work now focuses on advising Health Boards across Wales on legal issues that may arise under the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and the Mental Health Act.
