We are pleased to announce that Dr Sue Barnes will be joining us as the new Chair of the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership.
Dr Barnes is taking up the role after the previous Chair Tracy Myhill OBE stood down from the role last month.
She said: “It is a pleasure and a privilege to take on this role.
“Having spent much of my career working to improve public services for patients and citizens, I understand the pressures on the public purse and the importance of ensuring every available pound delivers maximum value for patient care.
“Shared Services has a pivotal role to play in that mission, and I have been impressed by what has already been achieved by the team at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership.
“I look forward to working with the Committee, Neil and the wider team to deliver an ambitious agenda that can transform how we work together in Wales, ensuring the spirit of the “Once for Wales” vision realises its full potential by freeing up valuable resources for the areas that need them most: frontline services and patient care.”
Dr Barnes will take on the role alongside her position as Chief Executive of Wales Air Ambulance Charity.
Neil Frow OBE, Managing Director of NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, said: “Sue is a highly respected leader across both the public and private sectors, and her experience, values and commitment to improving public services will be a tremendous asset to NWSSP and NHS Wales.
I’m very much looking forward to working with Sue in the years ahead as we continue to support NHS Wales together.”
Join us in welcoming Dr Barnes to NWSSP!
