Nerys Thomas

Nerys is an experienced litigation solicitor who is regularly instructed to represent and advise Health Boards in Wales in matters that fall under the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, which can often lead to proceedings in the Court of Protection, Mental Health Tribunals or Hospital Managers Hearings. Prior to this role, Nerys obtained a PgDip in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, was a civil litigation solicitor and for over nine years held a Law Society accreditation to represent patients subject to the Mental Health Act, providing a sound foundation for practice in healthcare law.

Approachable and pragmatic, Nerys works well with individuals or large teams to get the best outcome possible for the client, remaining conscious of the practicalities of a situation and the wider implications a case may have on the reputation of a public body.

Nerys is a Welsh speaker and would welcome the opportunity to assist clients in Welsh.
