With a degree in Ergonomics, and after a couple of years using the knowledge, I moved into defence and discovered an aptitude for not only operational systems, but also digital systems, where I progressed through dBase II, Smart, Foxpro, RPG, to MS Office, and VBA.

The main thing I’ve learnt is “All systems are interim.“

I have a small collection (14) of vintage mechanical one armed bandits, and am active in amateur dramatics and occasional stand-up comedy.

Spare time mostly spent refitting a 14 metre classic wooden boat.
