The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, provides the legislative framework for safeguarding children and adults in Wales. Local Health Boards and NHS Trusts are statutory relevant safeguarding partners under the Act.
Safeguarding requirements under the Act are set out in the 7 Volumes of statutory guidance, ‘Working Together to Safeguard People’ and aligned advice.
The Wales Safeguarding Procedures for children and adults at risk of abuse and neglect support consistent evidence based practice across agencies and across Wales. The Procedures help practitioners apply safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
