Anne-Louise Ferguson to be appointed as a Member of the British Empire

Anne-Louise FergusonWe at Legal and Risk Services were extremely proud to find out last week that our Director, Anne-Louise Ferguson is to be appointed as a Member of the British Empire, as part of the 2019 New Year Honours list. She will be awarded the MBE for her services to the NHS, for whom she has worked since 1991 when she joined what was then called ‘The Welsh Office’. Having led the team here since 1996, she has overseen the expansion of the service which now aspires to be a world class in house legal team to the NHS in Wales.

Mark Harris, Senior Solicitor commented, “Heart-felt congratulations to ‘the boss’ from all at Legal and Risk. The award notice might also have mentioned that Anne-Louise is a savvy lawyer, with a strong strategic mind, directing an organisation which embraced digital working, long before 95% of the legal profession had even started to think about it.”

Anne-Louise said she is “thrilled and excited to be appointed MBE. My thanks and congratulations to everyone in my teams.”

Having faithfully kept the secret from November until the announcement was made on the 28th of December, she now looks forward to her trip to the Palace to collect her award with her family. Her only regret is that her father didn’t live to see her receive the honour. He had been a Colonel in the army and loved all things Royal and ceremonial.
