The processes which support good governance in NHS Wales have three principle objectives:
- to ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment paying maximum regard for safety and quality;
- to ensure that services are efficiently provided and that the scope for waste and corruption is minimised;
- to ensure that the public has a means of expressing their satisfaction with the overall provision of services.
The way in which NHS organisations in Wales implement good governance is underpinned by Standing Orders.
