IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR STAFF
NEW OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES FOR NWSSP OFFICES
Please be aware that due to the current climate the opening and closing times of our offices are as follows:
For all sites, out of hours access may be facilitated for requests made in advance and if required, we can consider provision of a 24/7 option. In the first instance, please contact your Business Support Manager or relevant Site Lead to discuss.
Please ensure that there is sufficient cover within divisions for the revised office hours, for security reasons. Lone working is not recommended and we would encourage all staff to operate a buddy system, and work in pairs.
Please see below for specific Covid-19 information regarding our services.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the NHS needs to be extra vigilant due to the increased risk of fraud. NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHS CFA) have published guidance on what steps the NHS and the public can take to mitigate the risk of fraud. The guidance can be found on the NHS CFA’s website https://cfa.nhs.uk.
Please see the Student Awards Services page to see their guidance on Covid-19.
Please see the pages below for the latest Primary Care Services Covid-19 guidance.
Given the serious escalation of the COVID 19 situation over the last week, and the predicted scale of demand on health services as a result, the Medical Examiner Service will be delaying its planned recruitment for a number of weeks until the position stabilises and the future picture is clearer.
For those who have already been offered posts, as either Medical Examiners or Medical Examiner Officers, those offers will remain open but start dates will need to be reconsidered based on the emerging situation. This means that we are unlikely to be able to confirm start dates for a number of weeks but that offers will not be withdrawn.
For those who have applied for posts but not yet been interviewed, applications will remain valid when the recruitment process re-starts and you will be notified of this in due course.
The face to face elements of the Medical Examiner and ME Officer training organised by the Royal College of Pathologists planned over the next few months have also been cancelled. The joint coroner and Medical Examiner training has also been postponed until the Autumn.
Interested candidates should still complete the online training in advance of completing this and applying for any posts advertised in the near future. We would encourage those interested to maintain contact with Shared Services Partnership through this website.
If you have any queries regarding this matter please contact: medical.examiner@wales.nhs.uk

Due to the ongoing situation with the Covid-19 pandemic and the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday, the Recruitment Service is taking action to ensure we can continue to process Recruitment activity.
From Tuesday 24th March 2020 - all general Recruitment Services will continue as normally as possible.
In order to process recruitment as efficiently and safely as possible we will carry out face to face pre-employment checks, where the Health Board have specifically asked for these to continue. These will be done virtually. We will contact you directly with information on how the virtual check will take place. Please bear with us during this time, we will do everything we can to support you and ensure Recruitment activity continues as smoothly as possible.
Please be advised that due to the situation with COVID 19 we are suspending the Planning Programme for Learning activities until further notice.
