The main activity of the Sourcing Teams at Procurement Services is to negotiate contracts for a wide range goods and services required by the NHS in Wales. With a non-staff spend of over £800m per annum our aim is to ensure that the NHS in Wales has in place compliant contracts that offer value for money across all areas of our activity. By bringing the requirements of all LHBs & Trusts in Wales together, we can use this combined purchasing power to negotiate improved prices and do things once on an All Wales basis.

How long does it take to enable a supplier on to an exchange?

Following configuration agreements, the timeframe of set up is usually a minimum of 13 weeks. Timeframe is also dependant on Supplier bespoke requirements to ensure successful back office integration.

I can't find a product in the oracle catalogue, can you assist?

We can give advice on the best way to search in the Oracle Catalogue. We may need to refer you to your local procurement team who will have the product knowledge required to be able to advise you. We can supply their contact details, if you don’t have them.

What is the difference between a catalogue and pricelist?

Pricelists are Health Board specific and only contain items that have been agreed for purchase by the individual Health Boards.

A catalogue lists all items available for Regional Stores; however, some items may not be available to all Customers. If you require access to items, which are not available to your Health Board, please contact your Procurement Manager.
