Add, Amend or Remove a Dispensing Optician on the Wales Eye Care Services Administrative List

Legislative directions require NHS Wales to prepare and publish an Administrative List of qualified practitioners (which includes Dispensing Opticians).  This list includes the qualified practitioners' details and the ophthalmic services they provide, assist or support in.

Inclusion on this list does not in itself convey permission to perform or provide episodes of care in Wales General Ophthalmic Services (WGOS).  Please see

Ophthalmic Contractors or those hold a service agreement in accordance with the NHS Ophthalmic Services (Wales) Regulations 2023 are required to inform NHS Wales, at NWSSP which maintains the Administrative List, of the Dispensing Opticians that assist them in the delivery of WGOS within 7 days of any changes to their status and/or the services they provide, assist or support in. The Dispensing Opticians must be informed by the contractor or service agreement holder that their details have been shared in accordance with the above Directions.
