In addition to managing a clinical negligence caseload of high value complex claims, Vanessa is the Head of Legal Training & Development for all of Legal and Risk Services. This involves strategic management of internal training for qualified and pre-qualified staff to ensure both regulatory compliance and awareness of current legal issues impacting the advice we provide to our NHS colleagues. Vanessa also supports all Team Managers within Legal & Risk Services in providing bespoke client training upon legal issues relevant to the NHS. 
 
Vanessa is the appointed Training Principal under the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and supports all staff, from trainee solicitors to senior lawyers, in their career development. Vanessa also has management of the Mentor Scheme, allowing all colleagues to seek or provide support upon any issues including personal objectives and career development.
