Staff Engagement Group raises money for two cancer charities supporting families

Our Staff Engagement Group at Legal & Risk are regularly raising money for charity through the well-established Cake Club, as well as acting as the staff voice to raise comments or suggest improvements to how we work.

Each month, colleagues kindly bake goods to sell to and the money goes towards the chosen charity. Every six months, the group takes nominations and votes for the next charity.

In 2025, we raised £520 for Mummy’s Star, a charity supporting  families through cancer in or around pregnancy.

Then in December 2025 the new charity Latch was selected, supporting families with children diagnosed with cancer. We held a special Cheese and Cake Day and raised £128 in one day, which is 40% of the target for the six months! Thank you to all who baked, bought and enjoyed the cake and cheese, and to those at Companies House who provided the space for us to hold the event and supported us in setting it up and promoting it.
