Outstanding achievements recognised at recent Legal Awards
Over the past month the team at NWSSP Legal & Risk Services have been shortlisted for a number of different local and national awards recognising excellence in the legal profession.
Our teams have been recognised for their excellence in supporting the NHS in Wales, particularly during the pandemic, where our teams have supported our clients in making sure those things that were in the news worked and were legal in the real world, such as the establishment of field hospitals, new ways of providing health services and the purchase of PPE.
At the beginning of the month, our fantastic employment team were crowned Employment Team of the Year.
Employment Team Leader Sioned Eurig said “I am delighted to lead such an amazing team. We're all thrilled with the win at the South Wales Law Awards and will continue to strive to provide excellent service and advice to HR teams and beyond within NHS Wales. The last two years have been difficult for many and we pride ourselves on having been able to support the COVID 19 Pandemic. We don't only defend NHS Wales organisations in Employment Tribunal claims but we also advise on policy development and structures to make the NHS more inclusive and a better place to work.”
At last week’s Wales Legal Awards, Legal & Risk were awarded the Special Commendation Award for our extraordinary efforts since March 2020 in supporting the NHS during COVID-19. The judges were impressed with how our staff have gone above and beyond to support our NHS clients as well as supporting each other with wellbeing initiatives, ensuring all staff were supported during high workloads and unprecedented times. On receiving the award, the whole audience of 200+ legal peers showed their appreciation of our extraordinary efforts with a standing ovation.
Our Director Mark Harris said “Well-deserved congratulations yet again to all our brilliant staff for award success at the South Wales Law Awards and the Wales Legal Awards. It was especially great to be recognised at the Wales Legal Awards for our extraordinary efforts in supporting the NHS through the pandemic and nothing less than beautiful to be honoured with a standing ovation by all present.”
