Legal and Risk Virtual Insight Day 2022

Last month we hosted our annual Virtual Insight Day where over 100 people had signed up to take part. Our Virtual Insight Days give participants a chance to discover first-hand what life’s like working for the NHS Wales In-House Legal team. Participants varied from law and non-law students, as well as those looking for a change in career.

The day started with a welcome from our Director Mark Harris before our Business Manager, Lowenna Taylor, provided a whistle stop tour of Legal & Risk which highlighted the different areas of law covered within the teams, the work we do for our clients and our culture and values we demonstrate at Legal & Risk.

Throughout the day breakout sessions were available to learn about different teams and areas of law. This year breakout sessions were hosted by our paralegals and trainees which included Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Employment, Commercial and Court of Protection.

The day ended with a Q&A session where participants of the day were able to ask the panel questions which included some great insights about different careers, moving from private practice to in-house, and some top tips on submitting applications and interview techniques. Each participant received a personalised certificate on completion of the insight day. 

We have received some great feedback following our last event. We hope to hold another session later in 2022.
