Work Experience Vacation Scheme - New for 2025

The scheme for this year is now closed as we have had an overwhelming response. If you have not heard by Friday 20 June you have unfortunately been unsuccessful, however you are welcome to apply again next time.

Discover first-hand what life is like working for the NHS Wales in-house legal team.

Take part in our work experience vacation scheme and you will come away with a clear picture of our culture and values, as well as a good understanding of the day-to-day work of our various teams here at Legal & Risk Services.

In addition to presentations and interactive workshops, you’ll have an opportunity to speak to current paralegals and trainees, as well as some of our more senior colleagues, grow your understanding of exactly what we do and where we’re heading, develop valuable skills that will help set you up for your future career in law, and learn some practical tips for applying for future jobs with us.

Key Information

The Scheme will take part over a 2-week period; the first part will take place 30 June 2025 – 4 July 2025 and the second part will take place 7 July 2025 – 11 July 2025. Each day will be 10am – 4pm.

You can apply for either week, or both weeks, but would need to commit to the entire week in question and be present for the duration of each day.

There will be a maximum of 10 students per week.

The Scheme is an in-person programme only and is based at our office in Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff.

Applications are welcome from penultimate and final year (law or non-law) University students, graduates, and those considering a career change.

How to Apply

Applications can be made through an online form https://forms.office.com/e/VHpjF5Cpmb and will be reviewed by our Training & Development Team. You may then be invited to a remote informal interview (by Microsoft Teams).

The deadline for applications is close of day on 15 June 2025 and we will confirm whether you are successful by 20 June 2025. If you are not contacted by 20 June 2025, you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
