John Atkins

John is an experienced clinician, educator and healthcare manager.  He served for many years in the Guernsey Ambulance & Rescue Service - on the frontline as a Registered Paramedic, as a Tutor and Mentor, and as an Ambulance Officer, progressing through the ranks to Assistant Chief Ambulance Officer.  He later worked for Guernsey’s Health & Social Services Department as a Clinical Skills Trainer, Resuscitation Officer and Quality Improvement Manager.

With his family he moved to the UK in 2016 and now manages the provision of Medical Services at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire whilst maintaining his hands-on clinical practice as a Paramedic on a bank basis with East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.  Additionally he undertakes business continuity and emergency planning consultancy work on a freelance basis and works for the Welsh Risk Pool as a Principal Safety & Learning Advisor.
