Eleri works for the Welsh Risk Pool within NHS Wales Shared Services as a Senior Safety and Learning Adviser on the Bank following her recruitment in July 2021.
Eleri’s substantive post is as a Claims Manager for Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board where she manages Clinical Negligence Claims for the West area and works closely with Legal and Risk Services on a daily basis. Eleri has enjoyed her first few months with the WRP reviewing Learning From Event Reports and working on the Concerns Management Review.
Eleri has worked for the NHS since 2004 when she joined the Complaints and Legal Services Team following completion of her LLM at Cardiff University. She has a vast amount of experience of dealing with complaints, inquests, and clinical negligence claims as well managing cases under the Putting Things Right Regulations. Eleri has also completed her LPC and has a Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management which is very beneficial to her role as Claims Manager as well as her role with the Welsh Risk Pool.
During her role as Claims Manager Eleri has worked closely with the Welsh Risk Pool in piloting the Learning From Events Reports to ensure learning is captured at a much earlier stage and this is something she is very passionate about. The Claims Team have also become paperless within the Health Board as they have developed a robust claim management system.
Eleri lives in Criccieth in North Wales with her husband and daughter. In her spare time, Eleri enjoys running, paddle boarding, walking the mountains of Snowdonia, cooking and painting with her daughter. She has also recently signed up for her first Ultra marathon and is looking forward to the challenge.
