Following a successful career in the construction industry working in both London and South Wales, Neil joined the Welsh Health Common Services Authority in 1994 to project manage major capital asset procurement schemes for NHS Wales. In 1996 he became Head of Capital Projects in the newly formed Welsh Health Estates and in 2000 he was promoted to Director.
Neil became an Assistant Director and Head of Facilities Services (now Specialist Estates Services), in the newly formed NWSSP in April 2011.
Neil’s expertise is in strategic asset management with a particular interest in project management and capital procurement. He is extremely proud of the development of the Designed for Life:Building for Wales collaborative framework, an initiative he first started work on in July 2004 and is now the route by which all major healthcare developments in NHS Wales are procured and built. He is also passionate about improving investment decision-making and obtaining better value for money through programme and project assurance techniques such as Gateway Reviews.
Neil has an Honours Degree in Building, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a postgraduate Diploma in Project Management, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management.
