NHS Support Services

We have extensive experience in the field of environmental monitoring and have provided services to pharmaceutical manufacturing units, operating theatres, clinical wards, dental procedure rooms and hospital sterile services departments.

For microbiological testing, there are few guidelines describing exactly how much contamination constitutes an adverse result. Initially, when analysing your results we will use our extensive experience to identify any results of concern and advise you on courses of action to take. Over time, as we build up historical data for your facility, it will become possible to use this information to establish warning and action limits for each test when required.

Troubleshooting

In a perfect world there would be no anomalous results following environmental testing within controlled rooms, however there is often the possibility that results can take an unexpected upward turn. SMTL have a wealth of experience with trouble shooting in these scenarios, often leading the way with regards to the complex breakdown of all factors to be considered.

Efficiency of Air Decontamination

SMTL have designed a UKAS accredited test method that helps evaluate the effect of air scrubbers within any required settings. We have extensive experience of testing when these units are used within clinical ward areas, dental procedure rooms and theatre recovery suites for example. This testing consists of airborne bacteria levels as well as airborne particulates, with comparisons being made from background / baseline levels to those when the air scrubbers are in use, by way of providing a large amount of data collated throughout the testing period.
