Natalie qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEx) in February 2017 and gained practice rights in 2021, earning the title of CILEX Lawyer.
Natalie obtained her LLB Law Degree at the University of Glamorgan. She then went on to study the Fast Track Graduate Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives at Cardiff & Vale College. In 2021, whilst working from home, Natalie completed the CILEX Civil Litigation Rights of Audience course with Barbri Altior.
Prior to joining Legal & Risk, Natalie worked in the offices of a local manufacturing business. During this time, alongside her ‘normal’ office duties, she participated in many projects for the company, including assisting in the development of a new website and App, developing many marketing campaigns and assisting with the research and development of new packaging for the products.
Natalie’s first legal role was with Legal & Risk, at the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, where she began working in the Personal Injury department as a paralegal. During this phase of her career, Natalie contributed to many projects including the numerous (and successful) ‘PI Days’ and analysing the potential savings to be made prior to the introduction of fixed recoverable costs in low value EL/PL claims.
Natalie transferred to the clinical negligence department shortly before qualifying. She now deals with a wide variety of clinical negligence claims, which includes those arising from delays in diagnosing cancer, orthopaedic management and obstetrical issues, including stillbirths and neonatal deaths. Natalie also offers advice in respect of Putting Things Right. Natalie has a particular interest in dealing with costs, including budgeting for case management conferences and analysing bills at conclusion of the claim. Natalie is keen to work on the fixed recoverable costs scheme for low value clinical negligence claims, when it is implemented.
Natalie has recently started volunteering with CILEX Foundation, assessing applications from those applying for help with funding for their CILEX career. She also enjoys baking and will often contribute to charity bake sales. When not baking, Natalie can be found cruising around the world or taking as many short breaks as she can.
