MoNET Wales Poster Celebrated at BAPM Annual Conference 2025

We were proud to showcase the MoNET Wales poster at the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) Annual Conference, held in Cardiff this September.

The poster highlighted our work on strengthening multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working across neonatal services in Wales. We were delighted to receive two prestigious recognitions:

  • Highly Commended for our focus on Transitions and MDT Working
  • Best Poster Award of the conference

These awards reflect the dedication and collaborative spirit of the MoNET Wales team and our partners across the neonatal network. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this achievement.

July 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Monet Wales has successfully run its 50th course! This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of neonatal teams across the country.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Your passion and commitment are the driving forces behind our success. Here's to many more milestones and continued growth!

June 2025

In June we held our first MoNET Wales Leads Meeting, bringing together programme leads from all Health Boards for a valuable day of networking, reflection, and forward planning.

As we continue through the pilot phase, this event provided a fantastic opportunity to share progress, successes, and challenges from across Wales. Each Health Board presented a snapshot of their local MoNET Wales programmes, highlighting what’s worked well and where improvements could be made. It was inspiring to hear about the innovative approaches and bright spots emerging from different units.

The meeting also gave us space to evaluate the programme collectively and begin shaping plans for the 2026 rollout. We had insightful discussions around future scenario development, with leads contributing ideas on what would be most useful and impactful for their teams.

May 2025

We’re excited to share that our MoNET Wales faculty training day at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in May was a great success! This training day was a key step in supporting these professionals to become MoNET Wales faculty members, equipping them with the skills and confidence to deliver the programme within their own units. We’re really looking forward to seeing them grow in these roles and contribute to the continued success of MoNET Wales across the country. A heartfelt thank you to the team at YGC for hosting us so warmly and helping to create such a positive and welcoming environment. Your support made the day a real success!

January 2025

We launched the MoNET Wales pilot phase in January 2025, and since then, training programmes have been successfully delivered across the country. Members of the National Team attended pilot days to support local implementation, offering guidance and encouragement as units began rolling out the training. These sessions have helped build confidence among MoNET faculty and ensured consistency in delivery across Wales.

December 2024

Local teams ran pilot training days with support from the MoNET Wales National Team. These sessions were delivered by MoNET faculty members and provided an opportunity for units to test the programme, gather feedback, and make any necessary adjustments before launching their own training programmes in January 2025.

October and November 2024

Faculty Development Days were held at The Angel Hotel in Cardiff, introducing the concept of MoNET Wales. Over 80 individuals from across Wales attended and became local MoNET Wales faculty. These sessions gave participants the opportunity to explore the training resources, practise running scenarios, and develop confidence in debriefing techniques which are all essential skills for delivering high-quality neonatal emergency training.

September 2024 – Online Stakeholder Event

The MoNET Wales national team hosted an online stakeholder event to present the finalised MoNET Wales training resources, inviting feedback and engagement from clinical teams, HEIW, Welsh Government, and other key partners ahead of the national rollout.

June 2024 – Stakeholder Event

The MoNET Wales national team hosted a stakeholder event, welcoming clinical neonatal teams, HEIW, and Welsh Government representatives from across the country. During the session, MoNET Wales resources were shared for feedback ahead of the national rollout.

January 2024

The MoNET Wales national team was formed to plan and develop a neonatal multiprofessional team training day. The team includes nurses, neonatologists, and paediatricians, all working as Safety and Learning Advisors for the Welsh Risk Pool
